:::  Westminster 2005  :::

After my graduation at the secondary school I decided to go in the USA and stay by a famous handler's but unfortunately some problems came out and the project was undone...But I had a greater opportunity by staying at Burt's family's place, 1 hour by train to NYC! During my stay of 3 months in New York, I had the luck to visit Westmister, one of the two largest dog show in the world (with Crufts)!I can remember it was the 14^th of February, a pretty sunny and warm Valentine’s Day and all was decored with red hearts and Cupidos! I visited the show in company of Michelle La Bagh, M&M’s mountains berners, and some other friends and it was such a pleasure! All the organisation, handling of the dogs, type of the dogs and grooming are very different from here and it’s been very interesting for me…After being at the border of the golden retrievers breed ring, I could make some shopping in the few stands hosted by Madison Square Garden…This is an experience I will always bring in my heart!

Dopo essermi diplomata alla scuola superiore ho deciso di andare negli USA e stare da un' handler per imparare nuove cose ma sfortunatamente ci sono stati alcuni problemi e ho cambiato direzione...un'altra maginfica opportunità, presso la famiglia Burt, mi ha permesso di vivere appieno New York City e ho avuto la fortuna durante questi tre mesi di andare a vedere Westminster, presso il Madison Square Garden. Ricordo che era un caldo e soleggiato 14 febbraio e tutto era "americanamente" decorato con cuori e cupidi di ogni genere! Ho visitato lo show in compagnia di Michelle LaBagh, M&M's Mountains berner, e altri amici...L'organizzazione, l'handling, i diversi tipi all'interno della razza sono cosi diversi rispetto a quelli europei ed è stato davvero interessante osservare tutto ciò! Dopo i giudizi dei golden retriever ho fatto un po di shopping nell'apposita area...un'esperienza che veramente porterò sempre nel cuore!

::: Crufts 2009 :::

 

It’s such a long time I’ve been dreaming to go at Crufts, but due to certain circumstances I couldn’t do it unitl this year. But maybe this time was worthy to be awaited …I’ve never imagined that my first time would be as exibithor, nor with one of my dog…in this case with my little Vogue…It’s been an absolutely super experience, I had so much fun and I was so happy to visit Crufts after having visited Westminster in 2005. In may 2008 I entered the two sisters in Sankt Gallen int.show, even maybe without knowing that was a qualifier show...but when Vogue won young class I was sooo happy and I was already imagining me during my trip in UK! So, after some months we started organizing all… The show team is me, Maddalena, Fiorella and Lara respectively with Vogue, Sunny and Oscar. We left to B’ham on the 5/03.A funny company and a nice trip, even with some difficoult moments but well passed through. We spent almost the entire Friday having wild shopping in the NEC, where me and Madda, even if well concentrated in order to avoid too much money spending, couldn’t rexist to many temptation. We laugh a lot and we had all the packages on our backs. After a short break at the hotel, we met other Italian friends with whome we had a nice dinner in a tipical English pub close to the hotel, and after some minutes of chit chatting with Sam, Marco, Ale and Sere, all under the blankets to gain energy for tomorrow... Saturday is the competition day. We wake up early to prepare the dogs and for being early on the showvenue, where we met friends from all over Europe. What a big emotion when our turn to step on the Crufts’ green carpet arrived! Good performance for us…Vogue satisfied me even if she has been out of the ring for few months due to lack of coat (still to be all out again), but she did well. It’s been so interesting to see the entire judgements and come back home with an experience surely to be repeated...   Thanks for the support of mom, dad, friends &co. Thanks to the trip/show team. Thanks to Vogue’s patience and cheerfullness...And thanks to Joy... :) E’ così tanto tempo che sogno di andare a vedere il Crufts ma negli scorsi 3 o 4 anni alcune circostanze non me l’hanno permesso… Ma forse è valsa veramente la pena di aspettare questo tempo…mai avrei immaginato che la mia prima volta sarebbe stata non da visitatrice ma da espositrice, per altro con un mio cane, nel caso specifico, la piccola Vogue. Quasi per caso ho deciso di iscrivere lei e la sorella a San Gallo 2008, nemmeno forse sapendo che fosse un'esposizione qualificante al Crufts...ma quando Vogue ha vinto la classe giovani ho esultato, vedendomi già in viaggio per l'Inghilterra....   E’ stata un’esperienza assolutamente bellissima, che mancava dopo aver visitato Westminster nel 2005... Così, dopo qualche mese sono partiti i preparativi… Partiamo io, Madda, Fiorella e Lara con Vogue, Sunny e Oscar alla volta di B’ham il 5/03. Un’allegra compagnia e un ottimo viaggio di andata, nonostante qualche piccolo intoppo superato dopo i primi momenti di arrabbiatura …  La giornata di venerdì è stata dedicata tutta allo shopping selvaggio all’interno del NEC, dove io e Madda, nonostante l’impegno, non siamo riuscite a resistere ad alcune tentazioni, tra tante risate e pacchi caricati sulla schiena. Grazie Madda per la tua magnifica compagnia! Dopo un breve break in albergo ci siamo trovati con gli altri amici italiani per una bella cena in un pub vicino all’hotel e dopo quattro chiacchere nella hall dell’hotel con Sere, Sam, Ale e Marco, tutti sotto le coperte per recuperare per il giorno successivo. Che emozione! Sabato, giorno di gara. Ci svegliamo presto per sistemare i cani ed essere a breve sullo showground, dove si incontrano diversi amici da tutta europa. Ed è grande l’emozione quando arriva il nostro turno e sale l’adrenalina su quel tappeto verde…Buona la nostra presentazione sul ring, Vogue mi ha soddisfatta nonostante fosse qualche mese che non frequentava i ring e nonostante non fosse ancora in pieno pelo. E’ stato molto bello vedere i giudizi di tutta la razza insieme ai miei amici... ("Sere, questo cane segnatelo!!!!E' figo!!") e tornare a casa con un’esperienza decisamente da ripetere.
